Wooden sets

Wood is prone to decaying and weakening over time. Although today's pressure-treated lumber can make this far less of an issue, any kind of wood swing set should undergo inspection regularly for cracks and rot. Always check areas near the ground with special care. A good preemptive move when installing your wooden swing set is to use a concrete mounting product, which prevents the wood from coming in direct contact with the soil.

Metal sets

Metal swing sets are extremely durable, but they can easily develop rust over time. A shady spot is best for your vinyl swing set. As with all swing sets, inspect nuts, bolts and screws regularly, and tighten them as needed.
